With financing from MK Leasing Uzbekistan, Nusrat Mambetov modernised his farm’s machinery, improved operations and expanded services to neighbouring farmers.

In the Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan, Nusrat Mambetov manages a farm that has been operating since 1991. Today, the business cultivates 210 hectares of land. When Nusrat joined the farm three years ago, he found ageing tractors and outdated equipment that made daily operations more challenging.

The farm had the land and the demand. What it lacked was modern machinery that could support future growth. Access to financing through MK Leasing Uzbekistan helped change that.

A straightforward route to investment

For many rural entrepreneurs, purchasing agricultural machinery is one of the largest investments they will make. Nusrat had never worked with a leasing company before and expected a lengthy process. His experience proved otherwise.

Through MK Leasing Uzbekistan, he financed two Belarus tractors and several combine harvesters. The application process moved quickly and the machinery was delivered within three days of signing the agreement.

“We thought it would be difficult, like getting a large loan. In reality, everything happened on time and without difficulties.”

The speed of the process meant the farm could begin using its new equipment almost immediately.

Modern equipment, stronger operations

The investment addressed a practical challenge. The farm already had enough work. What it needed was equipment capable of performing that work more efficiently.

Replacing ageing machinery improved field operations and reduced maintenance requirements. The new tractors also provided better working conditions for operators, including automatic systems and air-conditioned cabins. As a result, productivity increased and day-to-day operations became more efficient.

“Everything went in a new direction. We renewed the machinery and productivity increased.”

Financing that reflects agricultural realities

Agricultural businesses operate around seasonal income cycles. Financing structures need to reflect that reality. MK Leasing Uzbekistan tailored repayments to the farm’s cash flow. Some assets are repaid every six months in line with harvest periods, whilst others follow a monthly schedule.

This approach enabled the business to invest in essential equipment whilst maintaining financial stability. Over two years of cooperation, the farm has continued to meet its obligations on time.

Expanding beyond the farm

The benefits extended beyond the farm’s own 210 hectares. With more reliable machinery and greater operational capacity, Nusrat’s business now provides agricultural services to neighbouring farmers as well.

What began as an investment in equipment has become an additional source of income and a way to support other agricultural businesses in the area. This is how access to finance creates wider economic value within rural communities.

Building for the next generation

Farming requires patience, responsibility and long-term thinking. Nusrat’s focus now is on continuing to improve efficiency, expanding the business and investing in equipment that will support future growth.

His goal is not simply to maintain the farm’s operations today. It is to build a sustainable business that can be passed on to the next generation.
